When we made the decision two months before the URx Conference to switch from in-person to virtual, it was crazy. Trust we know. Would it be possible? Could we pull it off? How could we provide a great experience remotely? Do we have speakers? Would people show up? So many questions! As we navigated these moving parts, we realized these were the same feelings recruiters in our community we’re facing at the moment. In the midst of supporting companies transitioning to remote recruiting during COVID, it was clear that we had an obligation to do the same. So we pushed URx Forward – a live online event focused on helping our community move forward.
The two-day virtual event featured 17 sessions with content addressing virtual internship programs, remote on-campus recruiting strategies and diversity & inclusion while offering many opportunities to network with peers.
We were touched by the response from our attendees after Day 1, receiving comments like
“This was amazing….content made it feel like this was in person. Everything was perfect!”

“Felt as connected as possible in a remote setting!”
This event was a culmination of the amazing work led by the URx Team, nearly 20 volunteers, and over 55 speakers who delivered an outstanding virtual conference experience to our 300+ attendees. A big Thank You to everyone involved, as we are learning we need community now more than ever and this experience would not have been the same without our community truly showing up.
We’ve hardly taken a break (we know we need to but for now we must continue to move #URxForward) and are now focused on continuing our efforts to support our community and engage with talented students this summer through the URx Talent Development Program and InternHacks. We look forward to our community growing #BetterTogether.
