In our flagship circle, aspiring recruiters will be learn through tailored curriculum to gain the foundational knowledge to enter an entry-level recruiting role. Our professional coaches guide each cohort through a series of exercises, activities, and frameworks designed to help each individual get hands-on experience to gain knowledge, skills, and confidence. If you're a fresh graduate entering the corporate world, or making a pivot into recruiting, this Recruiting 101 course will help kickstart a recruiting career. Applicants who identify as underrepresented minorities are highly encouraged to apply.
Participants will understand the role recruiting plays in an organization, variants based on industry, location and size, and the broader talent ecosystem. Additionally, they will learn the differences in jobs within a typical recruiting function.
Participants will gain exposure to the breadth of available tools and technologies used in recruiting. The curriculum will cover various use-cases, and will provide information on general ATS functionality that will allow students to pick up new ATS platforms quickly.
With a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion, participants will learn specific skills, actions and phrases to become a trusted advisor and influence decision making. They will also learn and practice sourcing concepts and techniques.
Learn to build an effective and inclusive interview strategy. Participants will be enabled to influence the structure of the interview to keep consistency, and will practice delivering recruiter phone screens.
Participants will learn how to deliver a job offer, negotiate an offer package and close a candidate. They will also learn strategies to deliver an excellent experience to candidates.
With their newfound skills, participants will learn tactics to land a recruiting job, including a resume refresh, LinkedIn updates and interviewing skills.
Layne Austin, Emerging Talent Recruiter, Netflix Layne has been a university recruiter and intern-program champion in the Bay Area for over 6 years. She's worked in various industries, including Healthcare, Energy, Automotive and Technology and hopes to bring this variety of perspectives to the Community Circles cohorts. She currently recruits at Netflix, working to build out their growing intern and new grad program. Layne is pursuing an MBA at UC Davis Graduate School of Management, specializing in organizational development. She's been involved in OneReq since 2018 and loves working with the community. While work, school and OneReq keeps Layne busy, in her spare time she loves to travel with her friends, explore San Francisco's thrift stores and tinker with her growing collection of houseplants.
OneReq Circles are curated community experiences for our members to come together and build networks, benchmark, as well as engage in professional development.
Community Circles are network amplifiers. Each community circle is made up of members who have the same role, interest, or affinity in recruiting. Community Circles revolve around ongoing peer to peer support, network building, and benchmarking. Community Circles meet monthly and have a dedicated private channel for participants in our Slack.
Coaching Circles are group based coaching programs to support you through a specific career or professional development focus area with similar peers. Coaching Circles meet for a fixed number of sessions (typically 6) for 1 – 1.5 hrs virtually on a fixed schedule.
OneReq Circles are groups of community members who come together to build networks, benchmark, and engage in professional development. Circles take place in two formats;

Coaching Circles is a group coaching program to help you navigate career and professional development. Coaching Circles meet for a fixed number of sessions (typically 6-8) for 1 – 1.5 hrs virtually on a fixed schedule.
Each Circle is made up of peers with similar roles, backgrounds, and or experience with a specific focus. You can view the exact eligibility requirements for each Circle on their dedicated page.
Community Circles are free for all of our members as long as eligibility requirements are met.
Coaching Circle range in cost from $299 – $899 depending on the specific Circle. PRO Community members can participate in 2 Coaching Circles at no cost per annual membership.
Scholarships are available for members who may not be able to receive company support to participate or are in between roles.

OneReq Circles take place in person, virtually and digitally via scheduled in person meetups, Zoom Calls and a private Slack channel for your circle.
Each Circle is unique in eligibility, size and focus. Coaching Circles are also limited in size and curated to make sure every participant can get the most value out of the experience. We also ensure there are no conflicts of interests with anyone two people within one coaching circle. The application process allows us to place you in the best grouping possible!
