You will help develop the next generation of the industry’s best Black SDE talent by being a Sr. Program Manager for the Amazon Future Leaders Program. Ultimately you will be helping to build a pipeline of talent through identification of candidates (primarily from University), development and refinement of the program vision and implementation.
As a Sr. Program Manager in GDIO, you will be responsible for the design and execution of AFL new hire onboarding, consulting/soft & technical skills development to grow, engage, and retain black SDE intern to full-time hires. We are looking for innovative, action-oriented, analytic Program Manager (PM) to support initiatives as part of this team. The right candidate will have a demonstrated track record in process creation, improving upon existing processes, and ongoing program/project management. The successful candidate must have experience in managing multiple programs at once, must be comfortable working with ambiguity, and relish the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment.
You must enjoy hiring, coaching, and collaborating with lines of business (LoBs) to understand their needs and build talent that will transition effectively SDE role. To be successful in this position, you must be highly motivated, creative, and a self-starter who is able to think big and execute, while staying connected to the details. You will be partnering with program managers across LoBs to shape early career training curriculum strategies and requirements definition, projecting demand from other LoBs leaders, experimenting with and optimizing the progression, and providing details of results/impact to the business to leadership. You will be responsible for ensuring each year’s cohorts of AFL participants successfully complete the training program and return to Amazon in the subsequent year.
Qualified candidates have experience defining and managing KPIs, analyzing cost/benefit tradeoffs, and conducting industry research.
Key Responsibilities
Define the vision and purpose of AFL participation in the program clearly communicated to all stakeholders.
Creatively design and deliver onboarding, bootcamp, and intern projects for AFL
Observe, coach, and motivate the participants in each cohort through a varied set of learning modalities and objectives.
Create objectives and key results related to the performance of the program.
Build deep relationships with internal customers to discover and document requirements, ensure readiness of L4 SDE hire
Build, drive and inspect the program strategy and execution in all facets interfacing with Student Programs Intern Program Management team, GDIO, and Program Managers across LoBs
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
· 5+ years of experience delivering cross functional projects
· 5+ years of experience in program or project management
· 5+ years of experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
· Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
· Desire to think beyond traditional classroom training experiences and innovate in the learning and development space
· Experience leading programs from vision creation, experimentation, and optimizing operations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience building and developing an internship program
· Experience presenting/speaking at executive levels
· Experience communicating effectively across internal and external organizations
· Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly, to include experience building and landing programs across a complex organization
