Our modern world runs on trucking. But unfortunately, the industry is rife with raw deals, poor conditions, and low pay.
TrueNorth is on a mission to overhaul the trucking industry by focusing on the people who actually do the work — the drivers. Our team, made up of alums Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Tesla, Facebook, YC, and more, is building software that will become the operating system of trucking. We’ll succeed by automating busywork, cutting out middlemen, and ensuring that the people who do the lion’s share of the work take home the lion’s share of the profits.
Overview We’re looking for our first recruiter to help us build our team during our next stage of growth. You will help craft role definitions, identify candidates that fit the profile, and manage the entire recruiting process from sourcing through interviews to making offers. The team and the culture we build is critical, and your work will directly impact our future success at TrueNorth.
We’re looking for someone who:
Loves building deep relationships with candidates
Thinks critically about the candidate experience, and cares about constantly improving it
Can manage multiple searches at once
Enjoys working in a fast-paced startup environment
Has experience driving the recruiting process from end to end
In your first week, you’ll:
Onboard with our team
Do a deep dive to learn about the trucking industry
Meet our team’s managers and get to know their recruiting needs
Work with the VP of People to prioritize the roles in the pipeline
In your first six weeks, you’ll:
Begin sourcing candidates and hiring for some of our most critical roles, like product and engineering
Begin to build a regular cadence of check-ins and updates with hiring managers
Take a critical look at our recruiting process and start making notes about how to improve it
Review our jobs page — often the first window candidates have into our company — and level it up
In your first six months, you’ll:
Close several critical hires
Help craft what upcoming roles should look like
Optimize and scale our recruiting process
Identify how we can infuse our cultural values into the recruiting process
Requirements 3+ years of experience as a recruiter, ideally in a fast-growing startup
