Your Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for a leader who has strong program management and people manager skills. Someone who is a problem solver, has strong project management experience at a global scale, and can challenge status quo to lead our Research internship talent program.
This is a high-visibility global role, leading a 500+ students internship program, and a team to execute against our goals for the program.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and build a high performing and high functioning team to execute a robust program offering, including talent related deliverables
• Create a culture of open feedback and psychological safety while working with a remote and geographically distributed and diverse team
• Manage client relationships internally on a global scale across the IBM research organization
• Redefine and reimagine a robust 12-week summer internship program for 500+ interns in-person experience with Research counterparts and your team
• Embrace and lead change to ensure the right work is executed by the right teams
• Interlock closely with the talent acquisition team to ensure talent pipeline goals are being met for the summer intern program as well as partner on broader talent initiatives
• Partner cross-functionally with teams to help determine sizing and headcount allocations for the program
• Create reports and snapshots for executive leadership to share a narrative on our progress and shortcomings as well as roadblocks
• Act as a project manager implementing agile methodologies
• Be a change agent, demonstrate the power of influence and ensure work is being done; this individual must be able to influence and ensure work is being executed by counterparts outside of their team
• Build strategies to continue to elevate the program experience for the interns
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• BA/BS in Human Resources or Management
• 2 years+ people management experience
• 5-7 years experience leading large and complex global projects, including experience with agile methodologies
• Strong communication and relationship management experience
• Ability to work and analyze large sets of data
• Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint and Excel
• Experience leading and delivering large events, must be comfortable with facilitation and presenting to large audiences
Candidates must be willing to work in Yorktown Heights, NY (preferred location); Almaden, CA or Cambridge, MA
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Experience working within HR, ideally within talent acquisition
• Experience or understanding of a Research organization similar to IBM Research
• Process improvement experience, experience with Lean other process improvement methodologies
